 Does by chance anybody have any good advice about SIM Only?.

I keep hearing that SIM only deals give very good value, and my bestfriend seems to spend considerably less on her cellphone every month than I do, and I’m seriously looking at buying one as well. Who is the number 1 reputable network? How do I swap to SIM Only when I'm still on my pay monthly contract even when my contract is due to expire in a few months. I’m a little bit disappointed that I can't get hold of a new cellphone, although I guess that’s Sim only contracts is less expensive than a traditional deal.
